CONTRARY to what most men might believe, not all women can or want to cook, nor do some enjoy entertaining.
So a quick fix is needed to keep one’s guests nibbling.
Perhaps you’re a gentleman who wants to impress the lady friends. You might not have the necessary culinary skills, but whipping up delicious
snacks can score some serious brownie points.
There is always mayonnaise or cheese in the refrigerator, and most of the time there are some crackers in the cupboard.
Dips are not only used for that packet of potato chips, they can also be used for sauces for finger foods. And there is nothing better than sweet-and-sour sauce for chicken nuggets and meatballs or spring rolls and samoosas.
A jar of mayonnaise with a bit of peri-peri powder or whichever tangy ingredient you have makes a great dip with crunchy veggies.
The possibilities are endless and you can be as creative as you want.
Salsa dip
Basic salsa is awesome for nachos, sambal for curry, veggie sticks or even braai meat. You can also add any ingredients to spice it up such as mango, peaches or jalepeno chilli.
If you need a bigger batch, simply double or triple up the ingredients and add them to your own taste.
