Jub Jub crash survivers still in critical condition

THE two schoolchildren who were injured yesterday when hip hop
singer Molemo Maarohanye, popularly known as Jub Jub and a friend’s car crashed
into them, are still in a critical condition in hospital.
Maarohanye was allegedly drag racing with a friend in Protea Glen,
Soweto in a 60km zone.
The Mini Coopers they were driving crashed into each other when one
of the drivers swerved to avoid an oncoming car.
The cars then ploughed into a group of schoolchildren on their way
home.
Four of the learners died on the scene while the two were rushed to
the Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital.
According to Nokwanda Dambuza, spokesperson for the hospital, the
two learners are still in a critical condition.
Investigating officer, Inspector Kay Makhubele, said the star and
his friend were in custody and would appear in court tomorrow.
They face charges of culpable homicide and reckless and negligent
driving.
He denied media reports that quoted a Protea Regional Court
official saying the charge would be changed to one of murder.
