The murder case against Pretoria-based State prosecutor Geoffrey Maponya was again postponed in the Pretoria Regional Court today.
Maponya faces charges relating to the murder of 20-year-old Precious Sibanda. The case was moved to February 24.
Maponya, of Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria, was arrested after the woman’s body was found in a bin outside a block of flats on Church Street.
The prosecutor allegedly killed the Zimbabwean woman at his flat in Pretoria before stuffing the body into a nearby dustbin.
Maponya was charged with murder, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, and defeating the ends of justice. He was denied bail.
