A security guard was dismembered and killed by a train at Tooronga train station, Johannesburg.
The guard, between 35 and 40 years of age, was waiting on the platform around 6am today when he was hit by the train, said Johannesburg emergency management services spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi.
“It is believed he was going to Germiston on the way to work. He was dismembered by the train and died on the scene,” said Mulaudzi.
Mulaudzi appealed to the public to take extreme care when standing on platforms, and to be aware of arriving trains and the direction they come from.
