Charlize’s Jackson makes his camera debut in Paris
Here he is: Jackson Theron, the adopted baby of South Africa’s Hollywood star, Charlize.
Since Charlize Theron announced in March that she had adopted a child, the country has waited with bated breath to see the little tyke.
Initially, Theron was only photographed carrying baby Jackson in a carrycot with a blanket blocking his face, but last Tuesday the little man made his camera debut in Paris.
Theron, her mother Gerda and Jackson flew to Paris where she was promoting her latest movie, Snow White and the Huntsman, with co-star Kristen Stewart.
Theron plays the wicked witch in this movie, one of a few adaptations of the classic Snow White fairy tale.
When photographers saw the trio depart from Le Bourget airport outside Paris, they could not stop snapping pictures of them.
Clad in black leather pants and stiletto heels, Theron carried Jackson on to her private plane. The little one was not far behind in the fashion stakes. He sported baby Nikes on his feet.
Earlier, Theron gushed to Vogue that Jackson was the coolest kid ever.
“I have always been truthful about wanting a family. And I don’t think my mum could have waited any longer,” she said.
She wished, she said, to be a mother much like her own mum: “Polite, difficult, supporting and loving. My mother made it possible for me to be myself. Our family is everything. Her greatest skill was to encourage me to find myself and my own independence.”
Little Jackson is American by birth, and with his adoption, Theron has bucked the Hollywood trend of adopting children from Africa or Asia.
