Bentley unveils world’s fastest four-seat convertible
Crewe – Luxury carmaker Bentley has unveiled what it claims to be the world’s fastest four-seat convertible.
The wraps come off the new Continental GT Speed on January 14 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The car is the drophead coupé version of the coupé first shown in August 2012.
The open topper is fitted with four-wheel drive as standard and is powered by a 12-cylinder, six-litre engine that turns out 624 horsepower. Top speed is given as 325km/h.
Acceleration is rapid to match, with 100km/h reached from zero after 4.4 seconds.
Bentley says the car uses less fuel than its predecessor, although the performance flagship still consumes 14.9 litres per 100km/h. C02 emissions are 347g/km.
