30 injured in Bloem taxi collision
Thirty people, including three children, were injured after two taxis collided on the N6 between Bloemfontein and Smithfield.
ER24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said the two taxis collided at about 4:30am on a dark road approximately 20km outside of Bloemfontein.
Roadworks are believed to have played a role in the collision.
“Paramedics and EMS rescue arrived at the scene and found the two taxis at the side of the road, and one of the taxis had overturned,” Jackson said.
Out of the 30 patients on scene, 27 were adults and three were young children. Jackson said four had suffered critical injuries and were quickly rushed by paramedics to a nearby hospital.
