Angie Motshekga turns to prayer
Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga has urged Mpumalanga residents to pray for their children writing matric exams to be “delivered from evil spirits”.
Motshekga was addressing journalists before a community prayer meeting in Hazyview on Thursday.
“We believe nothing can defeat prayer; we will make sure that the kids are delivered from the evil spirits and believe we will get the best results this year,” said Motshekga.
Mpumalanga Education MEC Reginah Mhaule has also organised prayer meetings ahead of the final exams, expected to start on October 28.
Moral-regeneration movement provincial chairperson Micah Nthali said he was happy with the minister and MEC’s commitment to prayer.
“It is about time that the devil sees the power of prayer.
“As a moral-regeneration movement we decided to put pastors in all the schools to cast out all the demons and pray for matriculants. We will be praying for the learners to pass their exams, pray for the teachers that will be invigilating and pray for the education staff,” Nthali said.
“We believe, for the best matric results this year. The devil is a liar,” said Mhaule.
