Father and son arrested for drugs, jewellery
A druglord and his son were arrested when drugs, worth about R5 million on the street, and jewellery were found in their Durban homes, KwaZulu-Natal police have said.
Colonel Jay Naicker said police swooped on the father’s house last night after receiving information that he had just received drugs in Shallcross, Chatsworth.
They seized heroin, cocaine, ecstasy and mandrax with an estimated street value of R5 million and arrested the 54-year-old man. His son was arrested earlier in the area.
“The 30-year-old son was found in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol with 87 rounds, drugs, gold, diamond jewellery worth R500 000 and R70 000 in cash,” said Naicker.
The two would appear in the Chatsworth Magistrates’ Court today.
