Missing man’s body found washed up on beach

The body of a 22-year-old man who went missing near Richard’s Bay has been found.

The alarm was raised yesterday when people saw a local man in difficulty in the surf at St Lucia Beach, 80km north east of Richard’s Bay, said the National Sea Rescue Institute’s (NSRI) Richard’s Bay station commander Dorian Robertson.

However, there was no sign of him when NSRI rescue helicopters arrived at the scene. His body was found washed up on the beach today.
