Missing prof found alive
A Polish professor who went missing last weekend has been found alive on Mariepskop mountain, near Hoedspruit, Mpumulanga.
“They are busy retrieving him alive from the bushes,” said the police’s Colonel Leonard Hlathi.
Hlathi said police found a small tent yesterday that helped them track down Dr Pawel Jaloszynski.
The 37-year-old entomologist from the University of Wroclaw in Poland went missing on Sunday while he, along with three colleagues, was doing research on insects on the mountain.
Jaloszynski sent an SMS to his colleagues late Sunday afternoon that he was lost. They had not heard from him since.
The Mariepskop mountain is, at 1 945m above sea level, the highest peak in the northern Drakensberg escarpment.
