Nursing exams called off over leaked papers
Nursing exams have been cancelled over the leaking of question papers, according to the SA Nursing Council (SANC).
The exams were scheduled to begin today, but could not go ahead as the extent of the leak required further investigation, said Sanc registrar Tendani Mabuda.
Seven people, six of them nurses, were arrested in parts of Mpumalanga and Pretoria over the weekend when they were found in possession of three national nursing exam papers for the bridging course.
Mabuda said they faced criminal charges and professional conduct inquiries from the SANC.
Police spokesperson Captain Leonard Hlathi said police were still investigating others alleged to be in possession of exam papers.
The Department of Health could not be reached for comment.
