Pistorius: Agency confirms model Steenkamp was victim

Model Reeva Steenkamp’s agency has confirmed that she was the victim of this morning’s fatal shooting at Paralympian Oscar Pistorius’s Pretoria home.

Steenkamp and Pistorius have been dating since late last year.

A close family friend earlier confirmed to City Press that it was Steenkamp who died early this morning, saying the family was “devastated”.

Shiri Reouveni of Steenkamp’s public relations agency said they had been told it was Steenkamp who had been shot. They would issue a statement later today.

Steenkamp’s family is from Port Elizabeth and were kept abreast of developments during the morning.
