Pistorius parts ways with PR company
Murder-accused Oscar Pistorius and his family have parted ways with their public relations company.
The NewAge newspaper reported today that the company, Vuma Reputation Management, had dismissed a suggestion the decision had something to do with Pistorius’ father’s recent media comments in which he blamed the ANC for not doing enough to protect whites.
“Absolutely not, it has nothing to do with the comments. We are in the process of handing over everything to the family as our contract with them was only for two weeks,” said spokeswoman Lunice Johnson.
A day after Pistorius shot dead his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in Pretoria on February 14, the company started handling media queries.
Johnson said, although the family was still in mourning and Pistorius was still battling to cope with what had happened, the company believed the family could now handle the media itself.
