Police recover copper cable
Eight people were arrested at a house in Roodepoort today for possession of copper cable worth an estimated R36,000 on the street, Gauteng police said.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested two Zimbabweans and six South Africans, said Captain Pinky Ntsinyane.
She said the men had been planning to rob a business nearby.
Ntsinyane said police also confiscated Krugerrands, cellphones and an unlicensed firearm.
Stolen groceries and generator amplifiers were also recovered at the house.
