Police scrutinised to improve on service delivery – Mthethwa
The SA Police Service is being examined so that it can “live up to expectations” and improve on service delivery, Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa has said.
“We have a 10-point plan to look holistically at policing and to live up to expectations, so that people can feel safe,” he told reporters today in Boksburg.
“The plan relates to the transformation of the SAPS and the cadre of cops we want to see in a democracy.”
Mthethwa said he wanted to check on the conduct and behaviour of police officers and focus on training.
“We should always improve on training. Training, in its nature, is ongoing.”
The training will also include refresher courses for police management at all levels on how to manage resources.
