A South African rescue team today left for the Democratic Republic

Resources, crashed into a dense jungle in the DRC on Saturday.

“Rescue SA received an official request for assistance at the
remote site of the tragic plane crash,” Rescue SA director Ryan Noach said in a
statement. “Rescue SA is the only fully trained and equipped rescue team in
Africa capable of immediate deployment to major disasters.”

According to reports, the bodies of the dead occupants cannot be
retrieved due to the twisted wreckage of the aircraft.

The Rescue SA Team will arrive in Brazzaville, in the neighbouring
Republic of the Congo, later this evening. The team of five includes search and
rescue technicians as well as an expert in mortuary science. They have taken
with them 250kg of specialised equipment to help extract the bodies.
