Vavi: I’d never steal from downtrodden
He would never steal from the “downtrodden” members of the trade union federation, Cosatu general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi has said.
In an interview with Talk Radio 702’s Redi Tlhabi this morning, Vavi responded to allegations that he would be investigated for financial impropriety relating to Cosatu’s new building in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
Vavi said there was no investigation into “financial impropriety of any kind” related to the building against him.
There was also no broader investigation against him, he said.
He blamed “faceless cowards” for leaking the story and said he would not be less outspoken on issues, including corruption.
