ANC to focus on land reform

President Jacob Zuma has suggested that the ANC will focus on land reform this year.

Speaking at the launch of the new KwaZulu-Natal ANC headquarters, which has been named after ANC co-founder Dr Pixley ka Isaka Seme, Zuma said Seme was one of the people who had fought against the Land Act of 1913. The passing of the act led to racial inequity in the distribution of land.

He said the party would “talk broadly” about this act.

Zuma is expected to outline the party’s policy and political direction when he delivers the party’s annual January 8 statement to mark the party’s 101st birthday in Durban tomorrow.

A crowd of party supporters huddled on the street outside the new provincial headquarters in Durban despite the rainy weather to hear their leader speak.

The launch was also attended by Seme’s descendants.

Zuma praised KwaZulu-Natal, which has replaced the Eastern Cape as the party’s new stronghold, for recruiting a lot of members for the party ahead of Mangaung.

He said the provincial leaders had shown good leadership and helped in solving problems facing the party.

He said the province had contributed positively in strengthening the ANC.

Zuma unveiled the building shortly after the first post-Mangaung ANC national executive committee had held its meeting at the Riverside Hotel, which was adjourned to Thursday to decided on issues such as the election of the smaller committee that is responsible for the party’s day-to-day administration.

“But its first meeting started here. That is your good fortune. It’s so nice to be in the ANC. I am not sure how those who are outside are feeling. It must be cold outside it, and it’s warm inside the ANC,” he said in isiZulu.

Zuma said strengthening the party was important, and said the building contributed to that.

ANC leaders have spent the past week on public campaigns in Durban and surrounding areas.

The deeds office does not reflect the population group of the owner of property. Therefore rumours has been spread te last 18 years about land reform. Secondly, All the millions of government houseowners ,where are they captured on a central datat base? Thirdly, there no indication of how many owners received their property free from te governement and how many bought them. Lastly, we are 50+ million people in the country, the white population hardly grow, the black population increased with more than 10 million.

If we carry on like this Zuma’s plan will be looked in 18 years from now and see what? Chinese own the country, because they are Bee and they can buy.

Zuma said “…. talk broadly”. Such an idiot, no education, no morals, no conscience only a crude tribal bush mentality. He can not talk sense much less “broadly”. He can’t properly spell the word if challenged in Matric. Even wearing a western suit does not make him worthy to stand with the men from the west who gave him his written language and everything else of value that he so much enjoys at the expense of his “subjects”.

According to a Mail & Guardian report whites still own 44% of land which could be seen as disproportionate, what is not widely broadcast is the fact that national and provincial government own about 24,5-million hectares It is estimated municipalities own over one million properties. More alarming is that the BBC reported that 90% of farms urchased by government and handed over to aspirant Black farmers have failed. That is worrying. Buy the farms, acquire the farms, but make them work that is the message South Africans need to hear. On another tack many farms bought for African (Black) farmers are simply re-sold back to the original White owners.
