The Presidency has dismissed media reports that Communications Minister Dina Pule could soon lose her job.
“The Presidency has noted the carefully orchestrated rumour published by most Sunday newspapers today that President [Jacob] Zuma is to relieve the Minister of Communications…of her duties and reshuffle his cabinet,” Presidency spokesman Mac Maharaj said in a statement last night.
“The rumour and speculation are mischievous and will not distract government from the main activity this coming week, the State of the Nation Address by the President.”
City Press reported yesterday Pule is set to get the chop in a Cabinet reshuffle and replaced by rising star Lindiwe Zulu.
Pule did not make it to the ANC’s national executive committee last year and her close association with former ANC treasurer-general Mathews Phosa apparently means she is out of favour.
