Pitroipa voted player of the tournament

Burkina Faso midfielder Jonathan Pitroipa has been voted 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Man of the Tournament after his country lost the final 1-0 to Nigeria.

Pitroipa from French club Rennes came close to missing the title decider with a red card wrongly awarded against him in the semi-final against Ghana rescinded only when the Tunisian referee admitted he erred.

Tunisian Youssef Msakni took the Goal of the Tournament award for his late winner against Algeria, Nigerian Emmanuel Emenike won the Top Scorer prize and compatriot Victor Moses the Fair Play honour.
